Saab will be producing a new smaller SUV-wagon. This will be called Saab 9-4X. The company will be working for this new model as a replacement for the Subaru Tribeca-based 9-6X crossover.

The 9-4X will be placed between the Saab 9-3 and Saab 9-5 models. This new vehicle is planned both by the engineering team in Rüsselsheim, Germany, and the Trollhättan (Sweden) designers. Also, it will feature Saab’s XWD all-wheel drive system.

Along with the Cadillac BRX sport-utility, the Saab 9-4X is to be based on the Theta platform. Both models could be possibly built in Ramos Arizpe, Mexico.

The Saab 9-4X is planned to be sold in the international market as soon as it is released. Saab thinks that it will hit most to the buyers located in Europe.

There are other Saab vehicles continuously striking the taste of Saab customers as well as marking good spots in the market. In the U.S., the huge, seven-seat Saab 9-6X is in demand. Likewise, the Chevrolet-based 9-7X sport-utility is offered which is popular for a big off-roader.

The Saab 9-4X is another Saab’s pride that will surely make its record in the industry. It will have its quick debut at the Geneva Motor Show next March. The model will be introduced as a concept car. According to Jan-Ake Jonsson, Saab managing director, another Saab’s concept vehicle will be showed at Geneva. That could possibly be the “new Saab Sonett”. It is a long-rumored roadster which is based on the same running gear used in the Pontiac Solstice and Saturn Sky roadsters.

More crossover vehicles are being planned to offer by Saab after the introduction of the 9-4X.
